Cran - that's a great harvest! And so early in the season too.
Enjoy those black tomatoes!

Lyn
Lyn, we cook lots of it, did try to bring some home. Did not happen. We had a stop at Houston TX, that should have been about an hour, instead (because of the rain/storm in NJ) we ended up at the hotel until the next day. Our flight was canceled. The fish went to a dumpster.

Cran, lovely black tomatoes.

i just threw it in with some other veggies (aji crystal hot peppers, red bells, onions), olive oil and sea salt. They were very tasty. I havent cooked much with eggplant, but the plants have done so well and are completely loaded up with Eggplant, so i need to find more recipes.

You have raccoon's on the Island, get out of here. How do they get on the Island, swim or sneak across the bridge in the wee hours of the morning.

They are really my only pest besides birds on the island. I think they travel from BackBay over the bridge onto the island at night. then go to town on all the nice trash people leave uncovered. However since my soil is soooooooo nice from all the amendments which attract grubs and worms its become a smorgasbord of sorts to the local raccoon population, the last few years. They DIG up the entire bed and chuck soil everywhere uprooting plants and all.

Raccoons are back, time to trap again

The lettuce should do fine where you live, keep us posted.
I feel for with this pesky raccoons.

My neighbor lady is feeding ours and now there is a whole family hanging around.
Then there is the automatic citrus and fig pruners that hang out.
AKA deer.
Deer love new citrus and fig growth.

Why is it always the neighbor ladies that feed the raccoons and feral cats? In my neighborhood the ladies leave out cat food for 'em.

I think i might put up some chicken wire around the beds for lettuce and strawberry season.

Of the top 5 fruit trees I wish I had, Figs are one of them ughhhh
