Oh, right now I am doing the HAPPY DANCE for you! How thrilled you must be. What a gorgeous tomato you have grown. You have surpassed your goal, now let us hope that you WIN!
Now you can allow that plant to grow some more matters for you to eat. Let us all know how they taste. Or are you one of those people who does not care to eat them?

Hi Julia!
Congratulations on your 4 lb tomato! I wish i could grow one that size. Do you single stem your plants and prune the flowers to only the largest flowers? |

That's awesome. I am new here and new to growing. If I have half the success you have, I'll be in good shape! Congrats!!

Hi Delerium,
I prune to two stems. The stem with the tomato is allowed to grow while the other is topped at four feet. All suckers are removed. At the beginning of the season I look for the first truss that forms at approx 2 to 3 feet up on the plant. If I'm lucky I'll have a megabloom on that truss as well, otherwise I will still ensure that a large flower gets pollinated on that truss and pray that the subsequent tomato will grow large, very very large.

Thank you again everyone!!
Yes, I'm saving seeds from my 3.22 LB, 4.01 LB and my latest 4.025 LB tomatoes. I still have three more growing that have the potential of going very large.

You said you were going to do it this spring before a single thing was planted. And you did exactly what you said. My hat's off to you. respect!
