This is fascinating. I thought Big Zac was an heirloom... In fact this web site claims it is: http://www.growquest.com/tomato%20big_zac.htm. Is there no such thing as a Big Zac heirloom?

No, there is no Big Zac heirloom tomato. It is a hybrid all the way. Carolyn has the story correct above in this thread.
