Nice! Cassava Cake! Yummy. If you find Cassava cake too rich for you, try our Leche Flan made with Duck eggs, its deadlier. You should also try Halayang Ube made from Purple Yam, much milder.

What we usually do with eggplants here is Tortang Talong or Eggplant omelet.

What i like about eggplants, They can set fruits even during rainy and hot dry seasons here.

I have tried the Leche Flan(yum), but not made with duck eggs, and
purple yam and puto(rice cake). Alright, I better stop talking about
dessert because it's making me hungry for some. My friends at work
have told me how to make the eggplant omelet, but I have yet
to try it. It sounds good. I have neglected my poor little eggplants
this year. So no harvest. Too busy with my tomatoes and my sweet/
hot peppers this year. I will treat them nice next year.

my 1 yr old eggplants are not productive anymore.. I'm lucky to have a single fruit on each plant. So....... I just started (again) my eggplants 4 sundays ago... after approx 3 weeks after germination, here they are. need to transplant them next weekend

Those look quite healthy. How are they doing now in December?

I am choosing my varieties for 2011. I don't see anything new I want to try so far so I'll go for the same three reliable ones I've been growing the last few years. I like Rosita, White Beauty and Louisiana Long Green.

Nice looking plants. It looks like your trellis system needs a coat of Ospho (phosphoric acid). It will convert rust (iron oxide) into iron phosphate...it will almost look like a black epoxy finish. Use a cheap (throw-away) paint brush, wear rubber gloves, and DON'T let it splash on cotton clothing. It will take about a day (without being rained on) to complete the process, and will last years with only occasional 'touch-ups' needed.

Thanks. The weather here is so unpredictable this December. It rains almost every day and when its not raining, the temps go high as 33C again.

I've lost some plants already due to the continuous downpour.

I've distributed the plants on the smaller tray to my neighbours. I just retained 12 plants.

Thanks for the tip. The trellis is our old window grill. I recycled it as a trellis and support for my DIY platform. I'll scout the local hardware for those Ospho and will coat it when the weather becomes more predictable.

Yes very similar, thats was the size we usually used it to cook. They usually also know as terong telunjuk its means the size only as big as your index finger.
