Then drizzled wax on both about 1/4 inch thick. The weeping fluid just lifted the wax up and ran down the side of the pumpkin.

That liquid really has a strong "punkin" aroma. I'll let you know when I use the pneumatic concrete breaker to open up the skin.
Ted I dont completely buy into the right left brain thing as many knowledgeable people today dont.
Some people like math for the sole purpose of math its self.
I just use it as a tool so I'm not that good at it.

I didn't think the wax would work but I didn't have a pumpkin and figured you would try.
Now we all know it wont work.

The fluid weeping from the pumpkin stem is pumpkin whey. You can blend it with raw liver and have a liver and whey shake like Warren Beatty in the movie Heaven can Wait.

SalsaCharley, my DW likes sushi and occasionally raw oysters. I don't complain at all, she has the right to enjoy those things if she wishes. But, it's not for me. I am a firm believer in this little saying.

"If God wanted us to eat that stuff raw, he would never have given us fire".

I believe that there are things I would do in a "basic survival" scenario that I don't have to do now. But raw liver in any form (and I like liver and onions) just doesn't help to desensitize my 'gag factor'.

[Pumpkin Talk Time.

I have tried pumpkin pie many times even have made my own few times and I have
come not to like it very much.
To make a pumpkin pie you'll needs a real sweet and flavorful pie pumpkin to start with. Then add lot and lots of spices, sugar.. Most recipes call for ev.milk. Hm ! that is a turn off to me. It messes up with nice orange color of pumpkin meat , making it like mud.
Also I have found out that butternut squash makes better pie than most other.

It fascinates me how the term Sushi has been generalized as one thing raw fish when in reality it isn't always the case.
All sushi has rice but not always raw fish or even any kind of meat.
The thing that makes sushi is the vinegared rice.
One of the most popular forms of sushi is made with Spam.
Sashimi has raw fish or some other type of raw meat without rice.
What ever the case the Japanese are laughing all the way to the bank.
I dont eat any of the stuff.
As far as oysters go it is hit or miss if the first one you ever eat is bad you will never eat another one.
The very best I have ever had came from Matagorda Bay Texas and south.
They taste like rain smells when a thunderstorm is coming in.
The worst came from Oregon, tasted like a rotten minnow bucket.
Second best from Washington state.
The ones from Louisianaand the Galveston areatasted like petroleum and that was after drinking a lot and before the BP oil disaster.
I haven't had a good oyster in over ten years and have given up.
Raw liver isnt gonna happen.

Gardeneer I will eat good pumpkin pie if I have to make it for someone or it is presented to me.
I will not go out of my way to eat it or make it for my self.
My favorite pie is Pecan pie done right with cane syrup and a little molasses not the nasty sweet things they make.
And of all things raisin pie.
And last but not least mince meat pie.

Right on. I love, love pecan pie. Having lived in the south, where pecan is plenty and reasonable in cost (just about this time of the year) I got hooked to it.
BTW: I make the best pecan pie. Or so I think. hehe.
No Thanksgiving should be without a pecan pie, I proclaim.
My next favorit is apple pie.... Mom, Chevrolet and Apple Pie.

I like poultry liver and pork liver when cooked, especially as pâté/terrines, but beef or calf liver I can eat only raw. Sliced very thin and dipped into a mixture of roasted sesame oil, scallion, and soy, it's almost delicious. Cooked, it tastes like ground up pennies and dirt to me. Bleah.

I'm like several others - nope, raw liver just ain't gonna happen.

Now, for a mild and one of the best livers I've had - rabbit liver is at the top of the heap.

Winter Luxury is my favorite too. The problem I have with it is that it doesn't store well at all. It should be pureed and used or frozen quickly after harvest.

New England Sugar is the one I usually rely on. They aren't quite as sweet, but they are super rich and store pretty well.

I love pumpkins! I think they are beautiful, impressive plants, with beautiful flowers and fruit. I'm also a sucker for the way they taste and roasted seeds. This year, I'm suffering from pumpkin withdrawal. The cows broke the latch on their gate and decided they really like the pumpkins too. They decimated my patch. I salvaged two pie pumpkins, a small carving one, and a teeny tiny little stunted Queensland Blue from the wreckage...
