This is just incredible! You know, I have your great book, and have read numerous testaments to your knowledge and kindness- and until now, I had never heard your voice. What a fantastic teacher you are!! And to me, the greatest contribution in this video- it's the truth about WHY we grown these tomatoes, and have memories, and help others. We have something in common- I understand you're a chemist by training- as I am also. One of the highlights of my spring is to share so many of my seedlings with my friends at work, so that they can create their own masterpieces at home. In my opinion, there is no greater feeling that to give, and particularly a tomato!!

Thanks for all that you are doing and have done!!

So if I came across as goofy or weird or some other issue, I can trust you all to give me direct feedback, I hope! Believe me....it was very odd for me to watch (Sue was sitting next to me - Joe sent me the link late on Friday night, so before we walked the dog, Sue insisted we do the deed and sit and watch...I think I was squinting at the screen)!!!

I'd call you more passionate and dedicated, than weird or goofy. But then a lot of us passionate and dedicated tomato growers are seen as weird and goofy by those who just don't have a clue... :-)

Darin, if you check the sticky threads there is an excellent one by NCtomatoman about seedlings and dense planting- and he talks on the video, LOL! But he also demos a planting technique that is even easier than it looks. I use this method now and love it. Less damage to seedlings and easy.

That was an awesome video, showing the why's and how's of what you do. I loved the wrapping of the historical information with your passion for doing what you do. No goofiness or weirdness there, just informed and analytical.

Being a lover of the Dwarf project and its results and implications for growers, I would have liked to seen that section a little more in depth. The variety is now simply amazing.

Seriously, anyone who has any level of gardening interest would watch this and think, "I'd love to hang with this guy for a day."

Very nice presentation of why we in the tomato world are so passionate. While because of geographic situations, our growing practices are a little different, growing tomatoes is still growing tomatoes. We strive for the same thing. Thank you for your insights.

We watch Joe's show every week and of course we pay attention to what you do. But what about Brie? Is she a Tomatovillian? It would be nice if we could start up the Mid-West Tomato Tasting again; it looked like a fun gathering.
