And yes you did put yours in upside down but as long as you didn't water it, it should be fine!

I stuck mine in a pot 2 weeks ago and it is getting little sprouts! I will post a picture later.

Just wanted to post a few pics of how my garden was looking this weekend after an entire WEEK of rain. Trying to keep everything sprayed with Daconil has become a second career

. Everything looked good, save one BTDP plant that had some grey mold. I cut off all the affected parts and some of the adjacent healthy stuff and sprayed it down heavily. Hopefully that stops it!

Pics in order:
Cuostralee
Berkeley Tie Dye Pink
Stupice (looks like the big one might turn soon!)
Blush
Lime Green Salad (tons of fruit,as usual)
Hungarian Heart (this plant is showing correct wispy foliage and heart fruit)
Not? Hungarian Heart (this one has regular foliage and is setting beef steaks?)
String Beans
Hot Pepper Plants
Horseradish (can't wait to use the leaves for my pickles this year!)
Chive flowers
Potatoes (all are flowering, getting hard to keep them watered!)
Meyer Lemons
Ambrosia Corn!

I ran home for a quick lunch and I was right. The big Stupice broke color! Woo Hoo!

Nothing beats the first tomato of the season

That's a reason to celebrate! I'm growing a Stupice plant in a bucket this year, trying that variety for the first time. The first flower just opened yesterday, so you're a good amount ahead of me. Enjoy that tomato in a few days!

Plants are looking good with a ton more on the way, but last night we got to cut into that Stupice.

We sliced it up and each had a ceremonial first bite just plain and salted. Delicious for the first off the vine. Pretty big and sweet for a Stupice too.

Because it was a Stupice and not some exotic we have never had before, we decided to put the rest on some grass fed beef burgers that I also topped with homemade garlic, preserved lemon (from some Meyers I preserved over the winter) and parsley aioli as well as some of our homemade gouda cheese and some of the blushed butter oak lettuce that has not bolted....HEAVEN

Looks great Kelli the burger is fantastic.

Did you know that a Meyer Lemon isn't a true lemon.
It is thought to be a cross between a mandarin orange or common orange and a lemon.

I did know they were a cross, and a lovely one at that! I have a dwarf tree that is about 5 years old. They are my favorite!

Kelli your write ups and photos should be in a cook book! Even if I am stuffed when I read them, they still make me hungry!

Actually Worth should do a "Mouth Watering Beef, Briskets, and Burgers" cookbook and Kelli should do a "Gourmet from Your Garden" cookbook. I would buy them!

Soooo that's why a meyer lemon isn't as tart as normal lemons!
