Now that i am out of jail on probation and i don't think you can catch me...I will propose one that I definably want to try more of. It was my best and my friend's best last year. That is Gigantesque. The fruit isn't over size but the plant sure grows big. Best yields of all my tomatoes. I heard about it from camochief. I am surprised tha it isn't more popular. From Russia I think.

Grew that one for the first time last Summer. It is certainly a keeper and I got some pretty good sized ones with great production. They will get a premium spot in the garden this year.

I HAVE COMPARED CHEROKEE PURPLE / AMAZON CHOCOLATE / SPUDAKEE. MY WINNER WAS AMAZON IN MY OPINION ....... OVERALL...... THE BEST....OF THE THREE.
THESE ARE TOMATOES ( NOT CHERRY TOMATOES). THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT SUNGOLD IS THE CHERRY TOMATO ALTHOUGH BLACK CHERRY HAS A WONDERFUL FLAVOR ALSO. I THINK THAT TASTE IS VERY PERSONAL AND JUST LIKE WINE IT BECOMES WHAT TASTE'S BEST TO YOU. SO WE HAVE TO KEEP TRYING A FEW NEW ONES EVERY YEAR. THE DWARF'S MAY CHANGE EVERYONE'S PERSPECTIVE. IMAGE YOUR FAV TOM THAT COMES EARLY AND STAYS SMALL AND LATE THERE ARE SO MANY INCREDIBLE AND INTERESTING VARIETIES TO GROW SO THAT IS WHAT GETS MANY OF US THROUGH THE WINTER THINKING ABOUT WHAT TO GROW AND EXCHANGING IDEAS AND SEEDS FOR NEXT YEAR. KBX/Cowlicks, Cowlicks/KBX, KBX/Cowlicks. You get my drift. Ami

Just for Worth, I'm going to grow a full row of Sunlucky this year and prepare some "tomato medicine" from my special "recipe". Guaranteed after 3 drinks you will be friends with everyone. Just be careful Worth, wouldn't want anyone to get too many whiff's of that "medicine".
As a side note folks, the word medicine is derived from metheglyn which is an old word meaning mead which is fermented honey wine. Ain't that a riot! DarJones |

Irakische Herzförmige! And Worth, for medical purpose only: Lehrertomate! Do you think I get jailed here, too? Otherwise I would add some others... clara

Amazon Chocolate
Taste, appearance, production and versatility....an overall great tomato. I'd be quite content if this was the only tomato available to me in any given season. I must add though that Cowlicks impressed me greatly last year. Best producing Brandywine in my hot and humid summer climate.

Sungold.. but if it was the only one I was allowed I would have to find a bigger tomato variety so I have no idea !! I would probably put all my favourites in a hat while crying buckets of tears and leave it to chance..

Cherokee purple. But I haven't tried Indian Stripe or Sungold yet. They are getting started now.
