Tom,
Thanks for your generous donation of germplasm (that doesn't sound very romantic, now does it?)!

Three months has past since the last post... how time flies.
Quote:
Loads of the big fruits turning lemony yellow, but I'm holding out for more of a golden hue. Hope this is the right course of action. Meantime, everything else checks out including, above all else, Disease Tolerance. Plants around it are quite crispy. I think you also need to add: high yield or some such thing. It's in what you would call a fall match, but it's really more like your summer patch , and it's seriously loaded. I'm still drowing in them, but looking forward to picking and tasting Tom's Yellow Wonder soon. - Grubs |

Grub -
Thats great news - In my garden, when everything else is getting blighted, this plants still trucking ... same with production at the end of the season ... I've been under the impression that "golden" in the eyes of tomatophiles means "orange" ... This tomato is a true yellow - I've not seen the "blush" in my garden (maybe I pick early) - but others have - I'd wait and see Grub (if you get the blush) - But a "hand-test" should determine ripeness ~ Really , REALLY awaiting pics !!! ~ Thanks for the update ~ Tom

Tom,
I love the pictures of this tomato...especially the ones that show the pink blush inside. I have been looking for good bicolor tomatoes...most seem to be considered bland. I would love to grow some beautiful bicolors that actually taste good too! Will you be offering seed this fall? Jennifer |

I sent you a PM - If you have a spot in your garden "open" we might be able to fit it in for 2007 ~ Tom

Nice summer storm here So I ducked out and grabbed a couple of TYWs.
First two fruits of 16.40oz (460g) and 14.65oz (411g). Note the blush as per Bully's fruit. I hope you enjoy seeing these as much as I'm sure I will enjoy eating them on toast tomorrow morning. Sky is breaking and golden sunset hues. Fitting. Taste test t/c... Cheers, Grubs. |

I second the motion for sliced pics and move to expedite the tasting report.
Good lookin fruit there Grub! I wonder why Tom hasn’t gotten the blush you and others have noticed. Can’t wait to see how they do down here... RIK

I'm starting to think I pick too early + its a cross - I'm really not sure ~ But I see no blush here (on counter 1 week after pick): I've also never seen stiching - one of Grubs has stitches ... ~ Tom
