Especially since only 5 of these big boys fit on a spoon, if I'm very careful.
Darin, that haul of yours makes me happy! Mine are coming in at a trickle, and the plant's been hit with Septoria (and subsequent fungicide & pruning). The saving graces are that a) there's lots of (green) fruit, and b) it is growing so fast that it's putting on leaves much faster than it's losing them. Nan |

Just a SEA of pimps and solanos- needless to say I was blown away by the flavor in my salmon salad today and totally thankful to those who bring to light these varieties that enrich our lives. Amen.
Post Office Spoonful. Thank you Nan in PA!!! |

Looks great Nan! My friend Mike wanted to let you know that he measured his plant today: He has a chain link fence that is 10 feet tall and 17 feet across. His one P.O.S. plant is covering that whole fence!

My Post Office Spoonful plant is showing some tolerance to septoria. It has septoria, but it's not spreading throughout the plant at the rate of all the other plants.
In addition, the growth habit of POS (slender vines, small leaves, lots of each, and generally rampant growth) ensures that when I cut off the infected leaves, there are plenty of healthy ones to take their place. Nan |

My friend Mike moved from his house a month ago, and left this monster P.O.S. for the new owners to deal with. It is still going strong as of 8-18-17, with some blight and septoria. But still producing!!!

Lucky ducks! From what I've heard, they'll have volunteers for years to come!
Mine continues to grow & produce regardless of the septoria. And the flavor still comes through even if the vine the truss is on is dying off. Nan |
