SWOON. Amazing flavor, texture, juicy and EARLY considering the erratic weather this year. True tomato flavor but sweet, my favorite in a long while. Will be growing en masse next year.
Is there another thread on parentage? I keep going in circles.

One parent was Granny's Heart (from "barkeater"). He sent seeds to "cloz", who had a mix of RL and PL seedlings from those seeds. Cloz sent saved seeds from the PL plants to me, upon my request.



Almost all of my trials, from an initial 40+ plants (7-8 years ago), have produced RL and PL beefsteaks and hearts. Virtually all have had exceptional flavor. The best of the best ("Swoon" along with "Bacon Lettuce and This") have been trialed every year, so they are now basically stable. The rest have only been grown about every other year, so they are only about F4's at this time.

Swoon was started late after I had another dropped seedling accident, but still ripened far earlier its surrounding slicers. Experiencing the brandywine-type flavor in mid July is a rare treat, and the production is fantastic. I'm saving seeds from each tomato as I slice it for lunches. BLT might have been a hail casualty or is unlabeled.

You are getting pink hearts on a PL plant?

I had one Swoon tomato seed. When I planted the plants in the flowerbed, I did not write where I put them. I think Swoon could be in that picture. It looks like a beautiful heart. Of course, it will only be recognized on the ripe fruit.
