My best tomatoes from Tomatoville

Over the past week, I managed to prepare a flower bed for indeterminate tomatoes. Even though I will not plant tomatoes until May 15, I was in a hurry because I needed to disinfect the soil with nitrogen lime. Even though I will be growing tomatoes in another place this year, I would not want my tomato diseases from last year to be repeated.

How far apart are you spacing your indent's? Also, I believe it was you I saw use spirals for your tomatoes to climb, Could you post a close-up pic of them? I'm considering trying that instead of cages next year. Love your setup by the way. Tomatoes look great.

Now between the rows 45cm, in the rows 37.5 cm. The ceiling is a concrete net with 15 x 15 cm meshes. I have 80 plants planted there. I'm making a plan for that. I'll add name tags later to get a better idea.

One new interesting tomato - Cherokee Jumbo. I was also quite surprised that the Marzano Fire plants stop the growth of the main stem as a determinant variety - flowering - leaf-flowering.

I am re-opening this thread to present all the indeterminate varieties that have anything to do with Carolyn Male (not just the ones listed in her great book) that I am growing this year. Jako první jsem vybral odrůdu Herman´s Yellow z knihy "100 Heirloom tomatoes for the American Garden". This not so often cultivated variety surprised me with its taste, which was quite distinctive (compared to other large orange and yellow tomatoes), fleshy flesh, slightly acidic and at the same time sufficiently sweet, almost without seeds.

Cherokee Purple
For the second year I am growing Cherokee Purple and Cherokee Jumbo (seeds from Darrell Jones- Fusion Power) side by side. I have a problem with the Cherokee Purple with its fertility. This year, just like last year, I grew a relatively small plant, with four nice tomatoes on it, but the growth of the plant has stopped and there probably won't be any more tomatoes. Cherokee Jumbo, on the other hand, is a massive plant currently with four tiers of fruit. The taste and size of the fruits are identical. If I grow these in the future, it will probably be Jumbo, even if it is not a true Heirloom.

I received old seeds (from 2012) of Reinhard's Chocolate Heart from an inheritance from Carolyn. It germinated well for me and so I planted one plant. The fruits are large, beautiful, fleshy with a good taste. Out of all my plants, this plant will probably be the most fertile as seen in the picture.

I received a bag of red tomato seeds in the "Carolyn Male's Favorite Tomatoes" sale. I sowed two seeds from which I planted one plant. To my surprise, the fruits were yellow. I think all the seeds will be from this yellow variety, which reminds me of a Yellow Plum in shape and size. The taste is excellent and therefore I would like to grow this variety in the future. I am interested in whether all the seeds in that bag are really from this yellow variety and what is the name of the variety. I am glad that the yellow tomatoes were so tasty for me and the harvest is also very good.
