Thank you all- Rob would buy it when he found it to be reasonable at auctions and estate sales. A lot of times, the CI would be awful looking, but he would bring it home and do an electrolysis on it in the back yard and then re season them for me. One fireplace caldron was so rusted and corroded he bought it for a dollar, no kidding; brought it home, did the electrolysis and found the mark showing it from mid 1800's. He had done a lot of the CI for me that way, making them lovely again. I should find some one who loves the stuff to leave it to, no family left now except Rob's sisters and they don't want it.
I am happy with the new fancy water meters the city installed- which is good because we all got them, want them or not! I try very hard to be frugal with the water after so many years of drought. The meter lets you monitor your usage even daily. |

I've been reading about that electrolysis and people discovering really old cast iron after the process was completed.

Electrolysis is safe and easy both on the CI and people. Just do it outdoors. I used to dump the used solution when we were all done ( you can reuse it for quite a time, but not store it) by the pecan trees, who loved the iron. |

You'd have to come up to Wichita Falls, Texas, probably a long drive. <smile>
Seriously, if there are some special pieces you are looking for, let me know and I will make a note of it - better some one enjoy them after I die than not used. |

I'd probably be gone before you if I'm being realistic with a bad heart and lungs, lol. I don't know what I would want, I'd have to see them to know.

It is drizzling out so I am cleaning today. I love this sweeper duster/mop. I know, who gets excited over a mop lol. It is simple design but made well, wide base with 2 pads, one for sweeping, one for mopping but can be used interchangeably. I can also dust baseboards with ease. Love the little comb that attaches to handle for removing pet hair from pad.
