Gerardo if you could I would love to see a literal "big picture" of your entire setup.....? You seem to be growing tons of varieties

There's a family party at my garden today (boy turns 4 on the 21st), so I'll be moving things around and using the occasion to cull more than 50% of my plants in preparation for my winter grow-out.

In a few days, when all is settled, I'll snap a pic from above. It's just a backyard with a fair amount of plants on cinder blocks, everything in containers.

Gerardo, I lived in Corona for 30 yrs. Not quite as good a tomato growing area in regards to frost as S.D. but I did start my seeds in an east facing window in Feb. Windowsill easily hit 90+ degrees. Then, I loaded the plants into trays and dutifully took them out to the front lawn and back in every day. It was all so easy! Now, I am in Oregon where it is cold and dark during the winter and early spring. Can't put plants in the garden until May and need to figure out a seed starting setup. I've been depending on the generosity of friends for tomato/pepper plants. So, yes I miss having tomatoes on the vine this time of year. ;-)

Cold and dark yes, and with wonderful aromas and scents of winter. I'll keep them on the vine for you here.

It's been a little crazy lately, a bit cold and hot at the same time. Harsh desert weather in the not-so-inland setting. Everyday I take my plants in the early AM, and bring them in a few hours after the sun goes down. Fun winter coming.

For the seedlings its ok, but for the larger plants they stay outside and so far so good.

The spouse of one of my many cousins sampled tomatoes and has contributed to the cause with these 30 gal containers. They will either be A and B tanks OR individual mixing tanks for growth-stage specific fertigation along a line of hybrid PVC-RGGS, haven't decided yet.

I also have a 50 gal. barrel ready to serve as the main reservoir. I have my eye on a 275 gal tote. Coming into fruition in measured steps...to be continued. (Cyclops chance!!!)

If you're going to store any mixed solutions in them for any length of time, I would paint them black to block light and then probably paint them white on top of that so they didn't get too hot in the sun. Rubberized undercoating for cars in spray cans is an excellent choice as a light-blocking black paint. It's harder to scratch off.

You could also put them in a wooden box fence like thing.

Have a fair amount of black primer, so I can just turn on the compressor and go crazy w multiple coats over a span of a few days. And the white is pretty easy to score. Thanks for the great tip.

Well you will get 4.3 PSI for every 10 feet of elevation.
With that stand being maybe 3 or 4 feet off the ground you wont have much pressure.
But if you do it right you will still get water out.
As for the stand it would work with weight going straight down but it might want to twist.
Cross braces or wires will fix that very easy.
Think of an old steam train water stop.

You dont want the legs to be the same size as the tank and still be straight.
They need to be at an angle or be at a larger radius.
275 pounds falling on your little boy would be a disaster.
