Thought you folks might enjoy some pics from the local Regatta that happened today in front of the house. It is a local religious observation, based on a miracle occurring around Bicol, which is a whole nother province actually.

Still, they had a great time cruising the river.Even the Coast Guard was in attendance, sending 2 of their rescue craft. The one picture shows one of the rescue craft rescuing a Bangka that had an engine problem.Next year I should run my Bangka..looks like a good time was had. (except for the noise...they had a sound system on the cruise ship, and some guy was really belting it out...out of tune of course).

Before you start put cast iron Lodge griddle on both burners on medium low and have two beers or your favorite refreshment so it can heat up.

Put it on a plate with your sliced tomatoes and onion.
Cut up 2 1/4 pound chunks of ground chuck and make patties.
Add sea salt and fresh ground black pepper.
Wash knife dry oil and put away.
Wash cutting board.

By this time the bacon should be done put it on top of your tomato slices.
And put the burger patties on.

Some where the burgers should be done on one side now is the time to put the buns on.

That burger looks good enough to eat Worth!

I am right at sea level and only 1/4 mile upstream from the South China Sea.There is significant salt and fresh water mixing unfortunately.I could irrigate when it is raining and the water runs fast enough to flush out the salt water..but I don't need to irrigate then .I could pull water from my fish pond, but then the fish would die. Can't win either way.

1188/89 wins for me, lean and pretty.
1193 seems more like a booze neutralizer burger, the lattice will counter anything.

I didn't plan on it honest.
I was going to cook some bacon to make a killer mashed potato to go with my steak I have aging.
Then I thought why not make a mashed potato nest with a bacon lattice.
Then I thought to devil with it I'm hungry now.
After that things just went down hill from there.
For sure not something you would want to eat every day but it sure was good.
This is the first time I have had bacon in the house in months.
And this is the reason why.
The same goes for Bourbon and the reason I dont keep it around.

I have foods like that too. If they are in the house, I'll get up in the middle of the night just to eat it. It's like it has a voice calling me...

Kind of like the heaviest object in your house knows when all the lights are off - it calls out to your foot, "Hey foot, come over here and kick me really hard - come on, it'll be funny"

Salt years ago I was running conduit in a cabinet shop.
There was a 2X6 covered in sawdust sticking out from under a radial arm saw about 3 feet long where I wanted to put my ladder.
So I gave it a good kick to move it.
To my surprise it was a 2X6 alright but it was not wood, it was a solid ingot of lead.
The thing must have weighed 300 pounds if not more.
