Corn we grew in containers. This is just from one container. Saved up the corn cobs to grow some mushies from the waste material. Actually i ground up the corn cobs and inoculated it with a liquid culture for some low tek experiments. Anybody sick of tomatoes yet we sure are but i guess its a blessing regardless.. Plants are still going strong and I've totally neglected the beds. Peppers are starting to ripen and looking good. Last picture - junk mail recycling. Noticed mushrooms popping out from the lid. I usually colonize the junk mail and toss it in the compost bin.

Ella some of the peppers are from trades and a few from the Heirloom expo. Fred Hempel brought some peppers to the heirloom expo and i saved a few seeds from his batch and grew them out this year. We have so much peppers right now.. its crazy. Going to have to ship a few boxes out to pepper friends.

Just swinging by to share some pictures.

The way you are going with peppers and mushrooms, soon you will have too many of them as well.
BTW we used to pickle, dry, and freeze mushrooms. Almost forgot, we fried them in lard as well and kept in glass jars preserved that way. They were wild mushrooms picked during the summer.
Nice okra. What a great helper you have around the garden! She is having a lot of fun.

I have to agree, your kid is beyond the cutest (absolutely adorable) and probably the best thing growing in your garden by far!

Thanks Redbaron! My little girl just turned 5 celebrated her birthday for a few days and came back to a surprise harvest of homegrown mushrooms. We are excited for our fall season. This flush weighed in at 1 lb 4 oz.

Ella the mushroom that Jiana is holding is an Oyster mushroom she cloned from one of our outdoor harvest around April this year - she grew the culture out then regrew it indoors. We call it Jiana Mushroom because we can't remember what strain it was. While cleaning up the garden today we harvested peppers.

Jiana puts us to shame. She is a professional mushroom grower.

Ready for fall tomatoes. Temps seem to be just right for tomato set.

Delerium, if all this peppers are hot varieties they will probably last you a life time. Are there any grafted tomatoes this season? What is Jiana working on next?
