100% germination. Karen, if all goes well, you will be getting F5 seeds of this one too.

KARMA Purple multiflora. These are coming ripe now. The ones in the Earthbox are intense but also pleasantly sweet. The ones in the pot are very high acid, on the tart side. Do you want me to save you seeds from the one with the pucker power?

First photo, the EB one, sweeter. Sorry about the exposure.

Next one is the pot one, a critter has stolen a few, and I keep tasting it, hoping it will get sweeter as it ripens. It would be a great cherry for a high acid loving tomato eater.

F3 is time to choose and only the best get to be F4 so I would 86 the sour one and lets only bring the best tasting complex sweet one forward. I am impressed with the fruit set on that one too. How is the rest of the plant doing? Healthy, still blooming?

Yes, very healthy. All 8 are healthy. Glad you don't want the pucker power ones.

A photo of the purple off the truss and cut . One is a double. Seeds fermenting now.

Karen got a PL Cherry with beautiful pink skin and yellow flesh in the F2. Weven are hoping fingers crossed that those are stable traits passed to the F3. Karen suggested I take several photos from first blush to ripe then cut, and post them.

Delighted to see the unusual colour come through for you!!
Always in a hurry, In the F2,I tasted the first few that looked like this, yellow with a pink bottom, I thought were almost ripe at this point and I was disappointed in the taste. Took a bit longer to realize they were not close to ripe and what colour they are meant to be.
It great to see the change pic to pic, about 3 more days maybe?
Interested to see how they taste to you. The F2 had a different taste fully ripe. Bright, fruity, unlike the others. Good also but different.

The pink skin yellow flesh in the F2 has become bicolor skin yellow flesh in the F3. Very unusual fruit, especially for a PL Cherry. The yellow flesh is stable, skin color or I guess I should say the flesh just under the skin has some lycopene production, because the skin itself is clear. Taste not quite as good as pink, or purple, but still pretty good because the pink, and the purple ones taste superb. 7/10 but it may get better as the plant matures and the season gets hotter.

Marsha, I wonder if it is a function of temperature,direct sunlight on the fruits or shade which has an effect on the amount of pink showing. Mine that showed the all over pink were deep in shade in my unruly unpruned crowded potato leaf plants in my cool coastal BC area and I know that you prune yours a lot more than I do.
we are excited about the uniqueness of this cherry too Dee and whether all over pink or marbled pink on the outside Marsha they are beautiful! I like the marbled look
