Default CHOPTAGers

Hi all,
Just made the jump over from GW. I'm curious how many fellow CHOPTAGers have made the jump as well.

Hey Brian,

I'm here! Glad to see you could come and visit.

When should I show up with the tiller?

There's a new CHOPTAG forum available now.

I had made one when I started the board, but nobody had posted in it after a week...so I thought maybe it wasn't needed and deleted it.

I really don't know who is active in CHOPTAG, but if folks let me know, there's a special CHOPTAG title to attach to your names if you'd like.

I'd like to know what CHOPTAG stands for, as an acronym, so I can put it in the forum description. Same for NORCATT, too

Hi Brian:
I'm here but haven't posted until now.
Earl is here but seems to be too busy trying to figure out how to assemble his new greenhouse. LOL
Good to see you have arrived.

Mischka

CHOPTAG stands for "Cincinnati Heirloom Open Pollinated Tomato Associate Growers"

Beside me and brokenappletree some other full time CHOPTAGers that I know are registered here include Earl, Dave_Z6 and VGary

While not from our area Bully and Lee have made it to a CHOPTAG meet and we would be honored to consider them members if they would like.

If I see more of our group post I’ll let you know.

Thanks for doing this,

Jerry

Wow! An honorary CHOPTAGER! I would think I would
have to at least make a spring plant swap to qualify, but I'll
gladly accept!

I agree with Jerry [CHOPTAG's president.] No matter where you are from, if you come to one of our meets you are a CHOPTAG member, then and forever. :-)

All,
Glad to see a few CHOPTAGers around. From my initial row about the place, it looks great!
Jerry, I do need to start expanding the gardens soon. I think the 9 degree weather tomorrow is not going to help me get it done though!
Lee, Are you going to make it up to the Plant Swap?
Mischka, thanks for opening the CHOPTAG portion of the site and this site in general. It's very nice not to be bombarded by adds!

Best Regards,
Brian

Thanks to Mischka for providing a special thread for CHOPTAG!
It is good seeing you folks here -- Brian, Jerry, Mischka, Earl, Lee, and Dave.
I'm working on my tomato grow out list; so many varieties and so little space! I hope to have a few varieties to share at the Plant Exchange and have invited some interested growers to join us in the spring and summer gatherings. Looking forward to seeing you folks!

Hi! I'm not a CHOPTAG member, but I am in Cincinnati and I do grow tomatoes! This year: Brandywine, Ceylon, and Matt's Wild, plus probably some Early Girl.

Brian,

Would love to make it up for the swap.
The DW and I really need a trip away from for a few days.
Alas, I have school and the job search is slow.... so I
won't be able to come this year, but I'll be there in spirit!

Hey Val,

You can become a CHOPTAG member very easily. Just show up for one of our food fests.. er.. I mean one of our tomato gatherings.

Watch the CHOPTAG forum for info on upcoming events.

Default Future CHOPTAGer

Hi y'all! I just made the jump from GW tonight. I am so looking forward to meeting you all. I moved here from Wisconsin in 2004, but I'm no cheese-head! I'm a Mississippi gal. Thanks to Earl's generosity, I will be growing lots of new tomato varieties this season. Hope to meet you soon... hurry up SPRING!
