Dracula's best tomato, bwhahahah. I have a friend who is also growing it- she says it's a pathetic wispy little thing that looks as if it just beyond death. And yet it is loaded with tomatos!!! Mine are much larger, of course, but looks rather forlorn.

I've never grown a sucker in a clear jar before, always put in extra damp soil and out of direct light. Are those going to take root? interesting....
You sure are quick on the wilt pull, I always try and stretch it out until the fruit starts to blush if possible. You are probably wise, I need to yank one for sure... Nice looking crop and tomatoes. Continued success. |

Thanks Foot! I was just paranoid that if it was indeed vectored by thrips, that it would compromise the whole garden. I may plant suckers in the holes for fall tomatoes!
They will take root in water, but I'm really just keeping them alive until I can get some soil and little containers to hold |

Headed up to Huntington, WV to visit my wife's parents for the 4th of July. It's always great to bring our harvest up there and share- we are going to be up to our eyeballs in gooey tomato goodness!

Taste test update: From top left, clockwise: Sgt. Pepper's, Rebel Yell, Terhune, Early Girl. We had a four-person test using only a dash of salt. The winner was: Rebel Yell! Followed closely by Terhune and Sgt. Pepper's. Early Girl simply had no chance against these powerhouses!
DLH was not included because another hungry family member decided to make a sandwich and a salad of it- but I was told it was scrumptious! |
