Got some huge (each is about a pound in size) halved chicken breasts at the local Hispanic market, poaching them slowly with the usual suspects; going to can most of them up but keeping 1 out for a couple meals. They get some big breasts there and at 99 cents a pound, were a good and cheap deal. They also have a good flavor, too.

We had smothered pork chops and fresh green beans with little red potatoes. Tonight, we're going to have a desert - 7Up cake with fresh strawberries and Redi Whip.

Enjoyed a big soft flour taco, used a 1/2 of a bigger patty of beef, lettuces, some shredded carrots, colby/jack cheese thinly sliced on the just barely cooked meat, onions, tomatoes and avocado slices. Salt & Pepper and nothing else was needed - was tasty and hit the spot for a late lunch or early dinner. Toasted the flour tortilla a bit in the wiped out meat pan, so it had that lovely almost nutty taste to compliment all else.

Cheap, easy and quick, but satisfying.

Salt, sometimes the boys would say they didn't want left overs and fuss a bit ( not much if you were smart!) and so Mom told them we weren't having left overs. At dinner that night, the boys started complaining about it was left overs, but Mom said they weren't left overs, they were "come agains", but the cake was a left over and they didn't have to eat that!!!!

Thanks, whiech. I forgot to say the beef patties were thick ones and the packs were on a BOGO deal, so cost about 65 cents each, so cheap eaten.

Salt, I love crunchy cheetos!

"Salt, I love crunchy cheetos!"

The only snack I eat when I really, really need a snack in the evenings because they are like eating cheese flavored air.

I had half a can of sweet potatoes left over for a meal.
Got the wild idea of mixing sweet potatoes with russet potatoes to make mashed potatoes.
Looked it up on line and low and behold there are many people that do it and recipes to boot.
Okay gonna do it.
Folks I have to say this is one of my (((not gonna do it again))) ventures.
I had to mix in butter salt and even dump powdered sawdust brand Parmesan cheese in it to even make it palatable.
But by darn I ate it anyway even if I didn't like it.
I cant think of two ingredients that dont go together in my opinion as much as these two do.
Putting it up there with Cheetos and bubblegum soup for a food fail.

Some people might like it but to me it was just weird tasting.
Is it a russet or is it a sweet potato the two flavors never blended to make another flavor they clashed.
You know, like cranberry sauce on turkey and how well it goes together.
