I just noticed some pear shaped greenies on my Snow White plant! Drat! I really wanted to try this variety, and whatever will the dwarfs think?

Linda, I have some snow white seeds drying. They are true. Should be ready to share in a couple weeks.

I was looking at a variety a few weeks ago called, "Green Pear" I don't remember which catalog I saw them in though.

Thanks for thinking of me Robert, but I already have seeds covered for next year. I'm hoping the greenies will change color when they grow, but to what???

If it was my garden, then Murphy's Law says they will change to yellow, as in Yellw Pear.

Just curious Linda, but what was your seed source if you are willing to share with us since others might also want to know as well in terms of not buying from the same place.

Of course if itwas a trading situation then all bets are off unless you know who you traded with. But then if you did know perhaps you already contacted the Trader, you being the Tradee.

If the green pears don't change colour - perhaps Grinch Cherry?

If green when mature there are other small green pears as well.

Several on Tania's list of pears and Robert, Green Pear is there. So is Grinch Cherry, which Tania describes as cherry/pear, so I didn't link to it and not much info anyway.

Nowhere do I see Emerald Pear, which I got from Reinhard two years ago, seed production didn't work out last summer, so it's out for seed production again this summer. I think. I know I have one plant of it here at home.

But IMO if the mature fruits are green and you got what you have in a large seed trade, as you said, there's absolutely no way that you can conclusively make an identification, simply b/c there are too many small green pears out there.
