Lots of those little wire shelves were used. Worst part is the cabinet shelves themselves are flimsy as all get out so anything heavy needs to be placed lower or they start to buckle. It is a pretty kitchen, though, so I ain't complainin', but I also don't have any advice to offer!
Kelly I started out life as a cabinet maker.
I have a bunch of stuff I will never use my wife bought.
And more junk in closet.
Like piping stuff for decorating cakes.

Nothing is where it was when I started.
I cant believe it.

You have so many spices! You made me count mine. I only have about 15 or so.

Yes it is horrible, I use all of them.
When I was a little kid my mother would give me money to buy her a mothers day present.
I always came back with kitchen gadgets or a spice rack.

I love to reorganize kitchens! Every time I visited my mother, I used to clean out and reorganize at least one cabinet. I don't think I've ever had enough cabinet space...uh, I guess that means I've always had too much stuff! I tend to rotate stuff.

One thing I hate using is chipped dishes. I picked that up from my mother, who got it from her mother: she said her mother (who died in 1947, by the way) would get offered chipped dishes from people she worked for, and she did not take them. So my mother would get rid of dishes that got chipped. My partner has dishes inherited from his mother, and they are all chipped! So I use my handmade pottery (and wash it myself, to keep it unchipped), and he uses his dishes. Ha!

There's a Penzey's (herbs and spices) shop nearby, and it's fun to go and sniff all the spices. Open jars of everything are available so you can know what you're getting (these jars are only for testing, they are not the spices you're buying; all the jars and bags for sale are sealed). My technique is to shake the jar, open it, and sniff the lid -- not the powder coming from the spices themselves, which can be dangerous for hot spices! The two peppers that most appealed to me when I did this last year were Cascabel peppers and Ancho peppers. They have a good flavor and are fairly mild iirc.

What an improvement! Good job!

I've got too many spices too, but I also use them all! Even after downsizing I've got an entire cabinet full of them, and our cabinets are TALL. I've always loved spices and I tend to season things by smell before I taste anything, which is how fajita seasoning, Old Bay, and bay leaves made their way into my spaghetti sauce recipe!

My spice cabinet (there's more in the pantry), with a cameo appearance from my pie witch!

Nice.
Pie witch.

After all that work I still managed to make supper of fried chicken fries gravy, clean up the mess, wash dishes and carry out my neighbours and my trash.

My mother-in-law always used a little ceramic blackbird pie thingee... what are they called? I love that yours is a witch! Hers always made me think of that children's rhyme:

Sing a song of sixpence,
a pocket full of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds,
Baked in a pie.
