Italian Pole Beans--Supermarconi vs Romano

I already plan to grow Marvel of Venice, the yellow bean, but I am curious to hear if anyone has grown both or either of the green ones. I'd like to hear how they compare. If you've only grown one, that's okay too. I'd appreciate all comments. Thanks!

Black seeded, or white?

The Super Marconi is black seeded and the Romano is white. And I have the white seeded version of the Marvel of Venice.

I've only tried the black seeded Marvel of Venice. Garrafal Oro (curved, green Romano type) is more to my liking. Jeminez is my favorite bean, visually and tastewise. I have seeds of these, and others, for the asking.

Is Jeminez green with purple streaks? Does it turn all green when you cook it? I wonder if I'm thinking of the right bean?

Jeminez is green with bright magenta splashes. It cooks up all green.

Thanks, Gary. I actually have a packet of Jeminez from Sand Hill. I guess I can just add that into the mix for next year. I appreciate the info!

A bit more info on Jeminez. Sandhill states that it is hard to get seed from. I think I know why.

It can germinate in the pod. It's the only variety I've tried that does this. In 2004 I had about 20% germinate in the pod, 2005 0%, 2006 5%. I'm a few weeks from testing this years crop. I'll break open a few pods just as they are starting to brown, to see what's up.

Interesting. Two or three times I've cut open a store bought tomato and found the seeds have sprouted inside. Really weird. I've never seen that happen with any tomatoes I've grown myself.
