Sunrise Jazz

I just saw a pic of Sunrise Jazz in a facebook group and wondered about it because I never heard about it before.
Is it a cross between Sunrise BB and Orange Jazz? Looks like....

I'm growing it this year but I didn't get it into the ground until mid-late June. It is only just now setting fruit. The plant is big and healthy. I don't know what is in its pedigree.

There is also a Yellow Jazz. I liked it, but Fred did not end up releasing it.

I just today tried my first Jazz ( pink/ yellow stripes). I found it to be amazing in flavor, texture and meatiness. A winner for me! I scraped the seeds from the cutting board to make sure I have some for next year!

Sunrise Jazz segregated out of one of our Red Jazz lines recently. It did well for us last year (better than Red Jazz) and this year it was released to our Collaborating Members.

As some of you may be aware, we have many Red Jazz lines we have been working with and we have been having a very hard time finding one that is worth releasing. There is a recent Red Jazz bashing thread here at Tomatoville.

All of our Jazz lines are inter-related, and their stripes originally came via Speckled Roman.

Sunrise Jazz is yellow with pink marbling, but it was derived separately from two other lines that are out there (from us) with similar coloring. Those lines are Lithium Sunset (some people really like this line, we think it softens too soon) and Yellow Jazz (inferior line, can't recommend it).

If this line does well for our Collaborating Members this summer, we will probably release the line, as soon as it is stable.

Mark me as one who adores Lithium Sunset. It had excellent shelf life for me, and a small core, was unreal productive gorgeous, and just delicious. It's coming back.
Jazz and Orange Jazz both had huge cores in my garden.

This year I grew out some seeds from trade marked Lithium Sunset 2014. Blight/septoria was harder on them than the Aunt Ginny's purple next to them, but they set a few good trusses and were are beautiful and well formed.

I was planning to save seed. Can someone here confirm for me that those seeds were OP/heirloom and not hybrid F1? Thanks!

Agree Lithium Sunset did well for me too! Pretty disease resistant! And one of my friends noticed blunt hearts on 3 fruit from one plant!

Lithium Sunset's open pollinated, not f1 hybrid.
