Anywhere I can get seedlings right now?

I had about 20 seedlings I started from seed (my first time!) in June for a fall crop. I had to leave town and my husband managed to kill every last one of them.

(Don't even ask me how - I have no idea.) It probably wouldn't have mattered anyway, because we had to make an emergency move (my husband was poisoned and nearly killed by chemicals in our house from a negligent bathtub refinisher and we had to leave the house because he was permanently sensitized, so even the small amounts remaining after weeks were making him sicker and sicker) so they might have all died when we moved them after planting them out anyway. But now I have no seedlings and it's too late to start from seed (I'm in zone 9). I don't know if there's anywhere I could get seedlings right away, so I'm asking the experts. The one place I saw that had fall and winter crop seedlings for mail order said they needed 80 days notice. I haven't looked much, though - this is the first moment I've had to breathe since my husband got sick and we moved! Surely there is somewhere....right?

I think Laurel *might* still have plants you could order for fall delivery. But I haven't looked at her website lately, and don't even know if she needs notice.

I think if you told us what major city you're close to, folks might be able to tell you if there is any store close by that may have transplants.

From what I know about the gen'l area (I recently moved from Ft. Worth), some places in Houston carry fall plants. So if you'd be willing to drive an hour or two, that *might* be the way to go. Hopefully, someone from that area can give you some suggestions on places to go to before you make the drive.

I have not even looked for/at plants in the greater Austin area, for all I know, there might be sources.
