That is a LARGE pot. I just thought the one I have was big.

Deborah, thanks for reminding me I had a boiled egg in the fridge that needed eaten. Notice all in past tense.

Diabetes much?

My doc must have thought I look like a prime candidate: she ordered a bunch of tests, all negative. I do eat very few sweets...

On the subject of diabetes, I flagged this article that I picked up in my news a couple days ago. Food, better than meds!

Ya think, they are preaching to the choir.

Doctors giving advice to 400,000 BC residents.
What, you guys still have cave men and women living there?

I have just finished my bowl of Frito Pie made with the chili, mean yellow onion and Colby Jack cheese cubes.
Washed down with an HEB cola.
The last 7 quarts are in the canner processing and it will make a total of 21 quarts.
This last 7 quarts had one quart of chopped fermented jalapeno peppers added plus the juice from one of the jars tossed in too.
I still had chili left in the kettle enough to put in two pint jars and freeze.
Two more dippers left so I put it on yet more Frito's just to get rid of it.
Last night I had a bowl of chili.
I didn't think I was ever going to see the bottom of that kettle.

I remember reading that cinnamon showed a lot of promise in treating diabetes. The study was in India, of people too poor to afford insulin.

Worth, that looks great. The right amount of chili whenever you want it and all you have to do is warm it up.

Thanks Salt.

I skimmed off more than a quart of grease and set it outside I think possum ate every bit of it plus it or a coon licked out the kettle.

I'm making chicken strips for dinner, so I cut up the breast and season it. Get out the flour canister and there are little green worms in it!...so I get the bag of flour - and there are little green worms in it!...

So I remember Worth saying he puts his flour in the freezer. Oh yeah, there's bread flour in our freezer. That'll work. I'm going to start keeping flour and cornmeal in the freezer.

ugghhh... worms in the flour, Salt. We had souvlaki for supper. Not my usual but, with what's been going on in my life it seems like for the past month it's definitely cheaper that bailing me out of jail or a hospital visit!

Anything cooked on a skewer automatically tastes better to me. I have never had souvlaki, but it sure looks good.
