Default New Sand Hill Preservation 2006 catalog

I just received the new Sand Hill Preservation 2006 catalog. I saw more varieties listed there than on their Web site.

One of them was Lithuanian (glad to see that one, I want to try it again).

Another one was Prue.

Tom, did I read last year that you had sent Prue seeds to Tomato Growers Supply for trial? Is this the same Prue that you offered to us at GardenWeb?

Thanks.

GTG,

As I've said elsewhere, and I don't remember where, , there is not complete agreement with the website and catalog listings for Sandhill right now.

A new website is being developed and as soon as that's up and running there will be tweaking to do and then hopefully the website and catalog will match.

For instance, Kimberly is not in the catalog and yet seeds for it are available.

I don't know if Tom sent seeds to TGS or not, but the deal between Tom and myself when I got those seeds from him was that I would send them to the places where I send seeds for trial if I liked the variety, and I did, and so that first Fall I sent them to both TGS and Sandhill as I promised I would. They were also sent to Johnny's for their large growout last summer, along withe about 20 other varieties and I haven't heard back anything from that. Although the Eva Purple Ball seeds must have worked out, and TJ asked for ALL the seeds I had of that b'c they wanted to offer that one, since I did see it offered in their 2006 catalog.

In addition I listed Prue the SSE Yearbook and continue to do so, so that any seed company owners who are SSE members also have access to them.

I like reading about their year in review..I tend to romanticize farm life so it's a good way to bring me back to reality.

I loved Mr, Haney...but they would have found Mr. Kimble's body buried out behind the barn next to that annoying gadfly Jeb...

gtg,

yes i am the one that offered prue at gw. i never sent the prue seeds to any seed company. as carolyn stated, i let her do that. i am certain anything from carolyn would receive attention while if i sent seeds to tgs or jss they'd wonder who i was!

i am thrilled to read prue has made it to a catalog, commercial as opposed to sse which is an important catalog too. more so , sse will preserve the seed forever.
