Default tomatoes good...pepper issue

My tomatoes are off and running. I have both heirlooms and hybrids. The jalapeno peppers are doing OK...but seem a bit small so far. Also, some peppers have these strange white-squiggly lines on them. What is this???

Some jalapenos have those white squgly lines covering them just due to the variety.

The squigly lines can be from the variety but most likely they are not getting enough water.

If it looks like the attached picture it is probably "corking" which (as stated above) usually comes from inconsistent watering.

Corking is a desired trait in Mexico and my kitchen.

Worth, at my house we are generally more receptive to UN-corking (namely wine bottles) but to each his own. Lol

Kelli I always look forward to the peppers later in the summer due to the corking.
I dont grow jalapeno peppers at home as they are so cheap here.
Less than a dollar a pound.

I can look for ones that have black on the shoulders and they will turn red on the counter.

That makes them cheaper than bottled water.

I have no idea I just know they fetch a higher price south of the border and in South America.
From what I have read it is due to the pepper splitting and healin dur to rapid growth.

I cant tell you why I like corking on peppers no more than I can tell you I prefer fair skinned women with blue or green eyes.
Its just simply what I like.

There are about 20 peppers in a pound.
So even if you wanted to buy them from the store you could get 100 pounds for $88.00.
Cheap.
