Go Scarlet Knights! Hunterdon county is one of the prettiest parts of the Garden State as well! Bonus! Marking my calendar!

Wow ! Lucky you !

The hills and country roads there are just unreal in their beauty. Amazing.
It's about 90 minutes from us, but well worth it.

So who went? And how was it? I had fully intended to be there myself, but just couldn't take the time off work to go. I hope it was fun!

I went!!!

It was delicious!! around 85 different varieties of heirloom and hybrid tomatoes to taste along with apple and peach types to try as well.

They also offered tractor rides around the farm to show what they are doing in regards to tomato, apple and peach growing.

They have a tomato growing area that has nothing but original Rutgers Tomatoes growing from seeds from the 1950's they have obtained from their seed vault.

The call their project "The Jersey Tomato ".
I purchased a Rutgers Jersey Tomato t-shirt which is really cool!!
Attached is a photo of me taken at the entrance to the event.

Overall it was a fantastic experience.

I was thinking of going but never did. Maybe next year Did you discover any varieties you can rave about Julia? Did you get any seeds,or did you just taste them? Im going to the Pepperfest Friday in Bowers near Kutztown, hoping to get a few new kinds of tomatoes or peppers. There are 200 kinds of peppers and I believe 150 types of tomatoes.Plus eggplant and other veggies. If you go, dont miss the farm Julia ,you'll love it.You can get a wagon ride from the festival to the farm and pick your own.Bring bags and that way you can mark the types you pick. Thanks for the review, Julia !!

We had some personal stuff arise and were prevented from attending. Sounds like it was a good one......and am so happy to see that the weather looks good (as you do) in the picture.

Heirlooms rock !
