b54red, ok good to know you got at least few Ancho's. My seed was probably old since it is last years and I also had lower germination. I did not have ripe peppers to save seeds from Ancho last year. Buran was another slow to germinate but 100% sucess.

How did the Alma Paprika did for you? (if I sent you some seeds of that one too)....I had 100% germination on the Alma, Malagueta and Dolce de minervino. In fact I have too many now

My first priority is to save seed this year from all the varieties, then enjoy the peppers afterwards.

wmontanez you are most welcome. I didn't have really good germination with Alma Paprika. The first time I planted I only got one up and on the second got a couple. Just goes to show how finicky pepper seeds can be. For one person they all come up and for another they don't and vice versa. Like I've said it's best to plant a lot of seed and repeat the process again in order to assure getting some seedlings.

Hard to tell by the photo, but look at the flower and see if it looks like this.

My peppadews do not grow upright. They grow downward.

I overwintered one of mine inside. I am curious to see how well it produces this year. It is about 6' tall.

Darwin, Pappadew was one of the hardest pepper plants I have ever tried to support. Mine grew about 6 feet tall and then started leaning out and down in all directions. Luckily I had mine under my tomato trellis and was able to keep most of the plant upright. This year I planted it between two trellises and will put some support bars connecting the two over the Pappadew so I should be able to control it better this year. I only set two out because they take up so much space and I have no idea how I would support it in a container so they are both planted in the center of a 4 ft wide bed.

I'm sure that that plant is a baccatum. here is the flower before turning into pod.

it grown upright first but now thw pods are drooping down maybe because of the weight of the pod.

To me the petal shape on yours is different, but someone else may have a photo of their flower who can post to compare with.
