Default Bird or Squirrel Bite

Been anxiously waiting for first mini pepper to ripen. Looks like something took a bite out of this little baby. Other side has nice shiny green surface. But this side looks like a bite was taken within last 24 hours. Inside full of seeds with only damage at "bite" spot. Furry or feathered? How do I protect my other babies?

Have you checked for HORNWORMS. They'll eat peppers as well as tomatoes and a few othr things. If you are also missing foliage, it might be hornworms.

How close to the ground were the victimized fruits?? Could be a rabbit or other four legged intruder.

6 foot wood privacy fence so no rabbits. But have seen coon paw prints by garbage can. No foilage damage or bite on pepper inches away. In EarthTainer so about 2.5 feet off ground.
