Another idea: fennel, especially bronze fennel is a beautiful plant. feathery edible foliage and bulb and it looks great in containers It is one of my favorites for looks. I agree that interplanting edibles and ornamentals is a great way to make the most out of the garden especially if space is limited. Bees are also very attracted to the blooms of herbs especially of any herb in the mint family which is an added benefit to both your garden and the bees.
