I'm delighted to read that the seeds are germinating. I will be waiting to see what they're like and how they taste. Your post is the first I've heard of Karzelek Pulawski. Of course I had to look up the town, too. Interesting history!

Karen, how great.
Daryl, you are right. Puławy is a small city with a great history. In the museum in Puławy was exhibited Leonardo's portrait Lady with an ermine. It was bought by prince Czartoryski in Italy. http://mnk.pl/exhibitions/leonardo-d...with-an-ermine Last edited by dorota; January 24, 2018 at 03:51 PM. |

My mother's parents came from Galicia in the late 1800's through 1904, so I'm interested in Poland and Austria though I don't know much about it. I sometimes wonder about the flavor of the tomatoes and other vegetables and fruits they ate. My grandmother died while I was very young, but I remember her as a wonderful cook. A fairly early small dwarf plant produced quite a decent crop for its size of 3 oz bright red uniform fruits. Firm, meaty, the taste is fine, a standard early red and a bit tart. Nice salad tomato or for canning and the small size plant size would be perfect For balcony or greenhouse growing.

I just saw this thread - thank you for posting the pic, Karen, and Vladimir for all the infos! I'm also growing Karzelek Pulawski this season - without any infos before. Now I know that the spiral is way too long for it, lol! No ripe fruits so far, only tiny greenies.
