I'm Stupid!
ok maybe not stupid but at least brain dead. I just spent all my alotment of money on tomato seeds (ok more than my alotment ). When I ordered I forgot to order tomitillo seeds as well. Just a question? Can you buy a tomitillo from the store and have it come true with saved seeds? I was thinking just the basic green ones? I could get a small one and save the seeds. What is the opinion?

I've only grown tomatillo's once, but I'm one who always thinks if you save seed and you're growing them for yourself, why not? Not sure how true it will come out, but I don't think there's tons of different tomatillos, so go for it! BTW, I have some commercial tomatillo seed if you want to try it, but it's a few years old.

Yes it will work just fine.
I got some of the BIG tomatillos when they were rather new a couple of years ago. I saved the seeds and I've grown them out at least 3 times now. They always seem nice and big, just like those I bought. |
