Default 2019 seed starting contraption

IMG_0078.jpg

Just wanted to share my latest seed starting setup.

Heat mat and controller are vivosun from ebay shipped for $30.
Containers are 6qt sterilite from homedepot for $1.18 each, 6 total.
Cells for plants are 72 count per 10x20 flat.. I cut the flat into 12 pieces of 6 cells each. So Ive got 72 cells on that 10x20 heat mat. After seeds germinate I take the top containers off and later use them to put the up potted plants into solo cups back into the 6qt containers. Hope that makes sense. Sooo, Ive got about 37 bucks in the whole thing. Whatdua think???

That's pretty good! Especially since you can multi-task it. You could have bought a 72 cell Jiffy greenhouse kit at Walmart for around $17 or so, but you wouldn't have your tubs for later use.

Wish I would've thought of that. When the season is over, you can nest all the plastic bins together, put the controller, etc. inside and store it neatly away. Great stuff.

$37? I waste a lot more than that just for a night out without dinner. If they last you 10 years, you only spent <$4/year so certainly not a bad investment.
