Just Brutus. Got them from Andrey_By, and that's what he had on the envelope. Love them.

Just so happy to have Tania's data base back again.

Since no info was asked about size,shape,weight, etc., I'll be back with my list in a day or two.

And I'll try to select varieties,each of which I've grown for many summers since there are always those summers when, at least for me, my tomatoes have not done well at all and tasted lousy.

I said above I'd be back in a day or two with my list, but it didn't happen for a very good reason, so I'll get back when I can,since I wanted to make the list not that long so I have to go back to my data book to see what might be the best ones to choose.

Bolyard Red, Ivan, Eye, Lazy Man, St. Pierre, Canestrino and Victoria are all reds that generally rise among anything else I am growing.

I've already mapped out 2019 but have room for more.
I need to add Brutus to that list.

I've gone a bit off tract growing blacks, browns, dwarfs, micros and a slew of new cherries the past
couple of seasons but a few reds that have done well are...

Ramapo
Rutgers 250
Sunset'sRedHorizon

Omar'sLebanese
Marianna'sPeace
MortgageLifter
^are pinks I think but for some reason I have them in on my 'red' list

RemyRouge for a small nippled cherry. First grew last season and does so well here.
A strong rich red that is a bit overpowering for such a tiny thing. I don't like it at all
as a snacker being like a shot of ketchup. But super on a pizza or foccacia...or a dozen
cut in half in a lidded jar with lemon, tarragon(or any fresh herbs), AC vinegar,
olive oil, tat of mustard, shake for a good salad dressing.
Freezes beautifully whole for a winter frittata, pizzas, etc. It is on my every year grow

I don't grow a lot of reds because so many lack the taste I like but a few that get spots every year because of their flavor are Couilles de Taureau, Arkansas Traveler, 1884, and Neves Azorean Red. They unlike most of the pinks still produce quite well during the summer months when it is really hot. They are also good candidates for large fall tomatoes.

Maybe next year I'll have a best tasting red. I'm thinking the only way to find out is to not eat any pinks for several days prior to the reds, and also by lowering my standards of what "best" means.

Interesting how we all view flavor....I rarely grow a pink variety anymore as I missed the tomato flavor profile I prefer, and hate using them for sauce.

What taste profile do you prefer? German Johnson PL, Marianna's Peace and Pink Pioneer are great tasting pink tomatoes...in my opinion.

I prefer a bit more acid bite than most pinks provide. I grow several yellows and orange varieties too for mild uses, just found I use lots of my main season ones for cooking and want vibrant red sauces. My favorite reds are green shouldered Italian types. Can't remember if Mortgage Lifter is pink, but that one is good. And County Agent is the most productive pink I ever grew, honorable mention to Olive Hill. I just seem to fall back to the reds for my favorites.

Although, it's not really red, my first choice choice would be Black Krim this year for taste and texture.

Cuostralee, George Detsikas and Italian Heirloom were all great this year. I loved Neves too.
