Giant moth. They are common in many parts of the world.
One of the family is called Manduca. They like tobacco and tomato plants.

And yeah, I thought that for a second, too, until I looked it up and read that they will wreck your life as a pet and destroy everything you own for their own amusement.

I've heard the same thing with regard to coons. But they're just so CUUUTE!!
