I also seem to have gotten him into preserving food.
Here is some of his pickled radishes with habanero and fennel.

Giant moth. They are common in many parts of the world.
One of the family is called Manduca. They like tobacco and tomato plants.

And yeah, I thought that for a second, too, until I looked it up and read that they will wreck your life as a pet and destroy everything you own for their own amusement.
