Lillian's typically comes in amongst the later varieties, can yield very well in seasons when it is happy and it gets plenty of sun - as far as seeds, it is incredibly stingy! You can get all of 15 seeds from a 1.5 pound tomato in some seasons!
given all of the above, I would not be without it in my garden!

Can anyone comment on their experience with Lillian's production?
I've grown it many times over the years and it just is not a heavy producer for me. Is it THE best tasting clear yellow or gold that I grow? No it isn't. IS it the best tasting? Nope. But the flesh consistency is unique to me and the fruits taste good enough to keep me growing it. There were two years when I had to stop listing it in the SSE Yearbook b'c of the problem that Craig referred to, and that's very very few seeds. And it won't win any beauty contests either, but then that's not why I grow tomatoes.

So, any comments on the 2 yellows I'm growing this year, Plum Lemon and Yellow Pear? I've heard discouraging things about the flavor of Yellow Pear, and I'm beginning to think I'll be diappointed with it. Sounds like Plum Lemon will be excellent.

Barkeater, I'm glad to see you say Aunt Gertie's was not late for you, since we are in similar zones - I am growing it and other heirlooms for the first time and worry which ones will like the Great White North. Red Brandywine did well last year... Go Oilers!

Wapsipinicon Peach
First time growing Wapsipinicon Peach- SSE seeds.
Just ripened. WOW These small yellow fuzzy tomatoes were exceedingly sweet- served halves as an appetizer before dinner. Guests were amazed. Tomato is reasonably prolific. Fred

I was blown away by Aunt Gertie's. A delicious tomato but I'm a fairly visual person and enjoyed the beauty of it as well. It did well in my garden too. My friend/neighbor is a tomato snob and she said she wouldn't have guessed a yellow tomato to taste so good. She "ordered" one for this year and her folks did too.
