Kind of a pick-up dinner since tomorrow is going to the darn grocery store day.

I'll be going to the garden to water and check on things- maybe we will have some tomatoes or squash or beans to eat from there!
imp i dont know if you are a native Texan or not but I am like it means anything,

I had my stupid father in law take my butter beans out of the grocery cart and tell me true Texans didn't eat anything but pinto beans.
What a jackass.

The past 6 days have been so busy. I'm ready for grandchildren to go home and I want to make a simple pot of beans. Just some pintos - cheap beans.

I cook them so many ways, but these I want to be vegetarian (Mostly). Then add some chopped onions, chopped Jalapeno, and bouillon cubes near the end of cooking to add salt with flavor. Followed by cumin, pepper, chili powder, onion and garlic powder. And maybe cook some cornbread. Just very simple Cheap Eaten in our usually quiet home.

I can't wait to cook those beans.

Today's lunch since I got up at 4:AM was a can of re fried beans warmed up corn tortillas and about ten big pickled jalapeno peppers.
I was starving and one of the best meals I have had.
Hot pepper bean tacos.

Heard a saying a long time ago- "hunger is the best sauce" - and I think that is right.

Plus, Prine's up here does some pretty good smoking, and the bean bones have a LOT of good ham left on them. After all that, the puppy gets her a nice big knuckle of ham bone. Prine's manages to have the ham stay moister than most places and I do like the ham there.

imp I was always told you weren't hungry enough if you wont eat.
This is so true.
I have always wished I could have raised kids just to teach them this.

"""I dont like that"""
You will tomorrow.

Judy Blume in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing says it all:
"Eat it or wear it!"

I did not grew up in US but have read books to my son (while he was little) and or he read it out loud as I was cooking and he was entertaining. That was great book. I love Judy Blume's books.

I'm going to have to look into that.

Today I had two hot pickled pepper tacos and some homemade chocolate covered fresh not peppers from the garden that almost killed me.

Salt I cant remember the last time I ate Taco Bell.
I remember the first time was a shock being raised on my moms good Mexican food.

Yesterday I had a jar of home canned goulash stew over white rice that I put some spare macaroni in later.
Then today I took it all and added some water chili powder paprika chili arbol cumin.
This was served on top of fresh crispy home fried tostadas with home fermented fresno pepper sauce on top.

Do you guys have it there?

I haven't had a hamburger or steak in a long long time.

I figured the tostada with refried beans pineapple spread and hot sauce would gross everyone out but it was good.
