Default Quinoa

Has anyone tried growing this ? I got some seeds for the multi-hued Quinoa and it looks so pretty I thought I could grow it for ornamental value, but maybe even get some seeds out of it. I'm in zone 6B, so my season isn't terribly long, but not terribly short either. I figured it could potentially be ready for harvest late September.

I haven't found anything on the internet to really be helpful.

Here's some growing information ............ if the seeds don't mature, at least you can still eat the leaves

I tried some a few years ago - they were easy to grow, but very early severe freezes took them down before their time. I seem to recall that they were very attractive to a wide variety of insects.

Growing grains are new to me, but they are so very pretty I thought at the very least, I could admire the pretty colors, and at the most, get something else that is edible! Thanks!
