Default Blue Potatoe Failure this year

I had planted blue potatoes this year. The little plants started out healthy looking but never got very big. I did not get any potatoes. I grew in a row and I used dirt mixed with compost. I am not sure what I did wrong but I will try again next year. Maybe not the blue ones though. I am hoping for a suggestion for some potatoes that are easier to grow and I will try those.

Seems a bit odd that you ended up with no potatoes all all, maybe try a range of different varieties next time

Yes, it seemed odd to me. I am going to try those russet potatoes and those potatoes that are large and are for baking, what are those called?

Tex,

You probably got one of the commonly available blues like All Blue. These will NOT grow here in the deep south. The only blue potato that I have had excellent results from is Azul Toro which I got from Tom Wagner. It produced 15 pound of potatoes from 3 hills this year.
