Best new pole bean for me this year was Lazy Housewife, the one with "round" white seeds.

Our pipes were redone in 2012. If it was in a new regulations than it was installed.

Almost if not all of these things have a built in check valve.
The best or cheapest insurance is a vacuum breaker on the hose bib.

Asked my DH about it and he confirmed that we do have backflow preventer valve.
