Default Disease Tolerance of Cherry Tomatoes

I don't know if it's just a coincidence but I've noticed that my cherry tomatoes seem to better at staying free of diseases common to other plants. Many of my cherry plants are still producing fruit that has little if any sign of blight.

Have others had the same experience?

Alex

Yes, Alex, that's my experience, too! After a really bad last season, I grew more cherries this year - less disappointment!

Even though I experiment and grow larger tomatoes the cherries are my favorite and will always be a major mainstay for that reason by golly.

It was true for me this year, my first year growing outdoors. Very limited number of varieties to compare, however. Black Cherry - no disease. The two 1884's have had some problems, the one plant more than the other. The hybrids have also had trouble. Big Beef was hit hard starting at least as far back as August. One of the Better Boy plants was hit worse than the other. The good news is all of the plants are still doing well enough to have tomatoes on them. The Big Beef ironically has the most.
