Ted, I had a lot of plants that set fruit and produced in 100 degree weather this year. I think plenty of water is the key; maybe the lady in Ecuador gets a lot of rain. I didn't have any rain but watered at least every other day during the heat wave and it paid off. As soon as I got a good set of fruit I cut back on the watering a bit in order to prevent splitting and tasteless tomatoes.
