No, no, no! There should be a way to censor these posts so that northern gardeners don't have to look at them!

Oh, and congratulations Linda.

I know! I have the bread. I have lettuce and bacon. And there's plenty of mayo in the fridge. It'll be weeks before I have the most crucial ingredient.

For me, we ditch the lettuce, and throw on a fried egg instead. You can toast the bread or not, that is optional. We have been eating BET sammiches for about 6 weeks now. Sometimes I have them for both breakfast and dinner. I did just pick our first Kelloggs Breakfast tomatoes today, so that will be something new to try this coming week. We got two really good sized ones, so we can squeeze maybe 4 or 5 meals out of them.

I had my first one a few weeks ago and as usual I couldn't quite wait another day for the tomato to be totally ripe and it was wonderful. I was so desperate for home grown tomatoes that I was cutting up barely blushing ones into salads for about 10 days til I finally got a few ripe ones. I'm sick, I know.

Mudman, I agree!! lol

I can't wait for all the work and pay off in the way of a BLT!! Mexico Midget will prob come first and I'll even have to fight my daughter for that one too!!

First slice cut in quarters, a little salt....mmmmmmm!!

Mudman, I'm with you. It didn't even make it to 62º here today, and my tomatoes won't be planted for another week or two. <sigh>

It never bothered me as much as when I didn't have to look at the southern successes.

Gah, I'm so weak! I was all prepared to have a big, juicy BLT when my last Berkley Tie-Dye Pink starts to produce, then I read this thread this morning. With not a single tomato blushing yet, I had to go buy a grocery store tomato. The BLT was decidedly less than satisfying, and I'm still craving one. Ah, well. I should have known better.

Every day, my wife says what do you think we should have for dinner or lunch today. We typically only eat one real meal per day with no breakfast. That means I can have a BLT at lunch time or dinner time. I usually answer with "a BLT sounds pretty good to me" and she usually says "we shouldn't eat so much bacon". I try to find a way to have at least one BLT per week. I plan on trying again tomorrow. Maybe I can get her to go shopping or something.

Linda, I harvested my first Stupice yesterday and had them on my veggie burger. I won't have full size tomatoes for several weeks but the Stupice means I won't be visiting Baron's Market for tomatoes for several months!
