New greenthumb project

If I had the space this thing would be so much bigger but I'm living in a rental with a strict HOA. Oh well, atleast this entire build has almost been completely free. Only $70 has been spent so far on 10'x100' 6mil plastic (only half has been used) and 4 pvc sections. I still need to build a fence to keep my dogs from plowing it over and some shelving inside but it's definitely coming along pretty quick.

Nicely done! I live in Buckeye, and I can appreciate the value of having something like that for the fall/winter crop. I just wish my wife was more flexible with the backyard, but she's not. If I tried to build something like that back there, she'd throw a fit. Ah well, maybe we won't get a frost this year

As far as the roma goes - hard to say. I've always been a bit wary of buying any tomato plant from Lowes/HD that was even remotely showing disease. I'd say that compared to the other plants, it looks very unhealthy. If it were me, I'd return it to swap it out, but then again I don't know what other plants they have available. It's a shame you didn't post this 2 weeks ago - I just gave away about a dozen good size seedlings, including a San Marzano.

What are the other seedlings you've got going?

Very inventive! I like your door design. I'll have to remember that one. How great to have a warm corner to grow tomatoes in the winter.

Oh that is very nice! I wish I could have a place like that, but we definately need heat here to grow any tomatoes outdoors in winter. One can always dream....

I returned it yesterday. They didn't have any Roma's so I exchanged it for a Celebrity that had some nice stems! haha

I walked out with a couple more plants too. I now have Celebrity, Patio, Bush Goliath, Beef something?, Jet star, Basil, Cilantro, Serrano, Jalapeno, California wonder bell's, Anaheim, strawberries, carrots, red and green onion, romain lettuce, string beans, cucumber and something that was stuck to my shirt from Maui so I planted them to see what happens.

Maybe when I get the white picket fence up and a couple little more doo dads you can show her and ask her on good day if you can do something similiar.

Yeah.. like I said.. shame ..

I'll be starting more seeds around the end of the year. No San Marzano this time around, but some other good ones. I may end up with some extras again ( I usually do ) so if you're looking for any new plants around Feb 1, let me know and I'll see what I have left over

I planted so many seeds I have no idea what to do with. My wife is a second grade teacher so I figured if it comes down to it, they would probably like them. I would just need to make sure I don't give them the Cayenne or Jalapeno plants.

It was getting so humid and wet even after not watering for a few days that I had little patches of mold growing on top of the soil. As soon as I installed the vents and fan it cleared everything up.
