Default Water Gauge for container

I added a slight modification to my container so I can easily see how much water is in it. The wire is from a utility marking flag, the bolt is a 1/4-20 nylon bolt and the float is from a slip bobber. Bend the wire on the outside around until it points the direction you want it to when its full or empty. Simple to do, just be careful drilling the hole through the bolt. The nut really isn't needed if you drill the hole a bit smaller than the bolt.

Duke,

Great idea!

I will try your design when I renovate my earthtainers.

Thanks,

Rick

I just installed a similar setup in one of my EarthTainers. I'm debating whether I need it in each one or if one is enough to know when to refill them.

Hmmmmmm.

Duke,

Excellent design!! If you want to send me some photos, I will incorporate it into the next Revision of the Guide.

llc,

Each plant pair you put into the EarthTainers will drink water at a different rate. I would definitely use the level indicator in each EarthTainer.

I'll see what I can do. I'll be getting things ready for this years crop soon. I'll take a few pics then.
