Default Springtime in the TX Hill Country

Drove out to Marbles Falls yesterday morning to shoot some photos of the Vandeveer Homestead (more commonly known as the Bluebonnet House, one of the most photographed houses in Texas) and came across some cute longhorns close up to the fence on the way. Thought y'all might like to see what I captured. That last photo is actually three photos at different exposures merged together to create an HDR photo, this is done to get detail in shadows and highlights that may not be visible with the correct exposure. It's also got a different sky composited in because it looked bottom-heavy with the clear sky we had yesterday. Let me know what y'all think, hope these brighten your day!

Great pics.

The cow pics led me to go read the wiki article about longhorns: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Longhorn

Thanks, everyone!

Here's a good article about the Vandeveer/Bluebonnet House, if anyone is interested: http://texashillcountry.com/the-bluebonnet-house/

Nice pictures.
I was in Marble Falls the other day and bought a pressure canner from a lady in her 70's.

The absolute best place to eat in Marble Falls is the Bluebonnet Cafe.
It has been there since I was a small child and was opened in 1929.
I had to stay for a week in a hotel there one time and ate there every day.
My Mom and Dad met in Marble falls.

My paternal grandparents live in Marble Falls. I love the drive out there from Round Rock, so gorgeous. We had meant to check out Bluebonnet Cafe but headed back before it was lunchtime and we weren't hungry. I have had their pies, though, my grandma always gets one or two from them for Thanksgiving.

I submitted the HDR photo to a local news station for a contest, voting begins April 10th. The prize is free lawn aeration which I can actually use now that we'll have a house!

Kelly I cant think of any other place to put this so you will see it.
First I hope you win you deserve it.

Now on your recommendation some time ago you mentioned sweet baby rays BBQ sauce.
I bought the regular in the big bottle.
It is okay but I will need to doctor it up with some lime and hot peppers.
Today I am going to BBQ some pork ribs and chicken leg quarters in celebration of I guess life and spring in Texas.

I want you to know from the bottom of my heart that you as a younger person coming here and sharing your thoughts your happiness and your losses has helped me tremendously in ways you cannot understand.
One of these days you will understand.
It makes me want to keep going when at times I just want to give up and stop.
For that I want to thank you.

I will, of course! Luckily they're separated by category (kids/family, animals, landscape) so no competition needed!

More specifically, the Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Pecan is where it's at! No spice or zip, though, I love it on a pulled pork sandwich.

I'm glad I can help it whatever way I can, friend. I hope you never decide to stop, you've got too much to contribute to this crazy world!
