Default What type of plant is this?

Last summer, a new plant came up that never did the past two summers. It grew like wild fire and I had to keep cutting it back due to it going after my tomatillo plants. I'm thinking it's a false Virginia creeper? Any other ideas?

It's pretty tough to keep under control but I do like the way it covers up the ugly chain link fencing.

Yea you're right on the money with identifying it as a Thicket Creeper (False Virginia Creeper).. http://www.fassadengruen.de/eng/uw/c...et_creeper.htm

Thanks for the link! The odd thing is, it never came up the first two summers I lived here, then last spring it came up for the first time. We had extremely cold winters the first two years so maybe that is why it never grew.
