Default Roma cross

Hello everyone.last fall I saved some seed from some nice size romas from the store.I planted five of them this spring and they are super healthy, thick, stocky plants.lots of flowers also.I also have some sub arctic plenty that are doing great.I'd like to cross the two and see what I get.my question is,would the store bought romas have been hybrids or maybe an heirloom type that they grow year after year? Thanks.

Could be either. But if it was a regular grocery store, I'd probably put my money on it being a hybrid. You can still breed from hybrid progeny (technically if the tomato was a hybrid, your 5 plants would be the f2 generation). If the roma type was a hybrid you might see variation between your five plants.

Good Luck!! Have fun!
